"Spotlighting the shadows of parental separation" was my first multi-media feature, which I wrote in my sophomore year of high school. I faced challenges when interviewing students from divorced families about the topic of divorce. I aimed to address the issue comprehensively by using statistics and research, as well as incorporating personal experiences from individuals educated on the subject.

Written in my junior year of high school, my second multi-media feature, "The next chapter: readers set aside ink and leather," inspired me to discover potential improvements from my first feature. My objective was to convey the meaning and story in a more thoughtful manner and to use different multi-medias to create interest and variety within the spread. Ultimately, my efforts paid off and I was presented with my first Best of SNO award.

For my final high school journalism feature, my goal was to connect back from a broader, more widespread topic and focus on a topic that directly correlates with Carlmont students. Although there were many improvements I believed I could have made to both the data-gathering process and the final product, I enjoyed creating a piece that I felt every student at Carlmont could find meaning in.
